The Student Recreation Center provides a sense of community to students and staff.

Recreation and Wellness is excited to reach out to you as an alum and past employee of the Department (formerly Rec Sports). As you know, the SRC made history in 1979 as the first stand-alone facility financed solely with student fees. Over the past several decades, students like yourself have created lasting memories and lifelong friendships while spending time at the Student Recreation Center. We want our future students to have the opportunity to build their own memories at the Rec Center and to gain a sense of community as BGSU becomes their home away from home.

After an extensive study was undertaken to determine the needs of current and potential students, the BGSU Board of Trustees voted to approve a $13.4 million dollar renovation project which refaced the building entrance and central stairwell to create a modern look and feel, added state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment in an expanded space with increased natural lighting, upgraded volleyball and basketball court surfaces, and renovated locker rooms.
